The Statistical Coding department of TICO provides manual coding and statistical
reporting services for commercial lines , farm and ranch and residential property insurance. Premiums
and losses are collected and edited under the Texas Department of Insurance's (TDI)
statistical plans. We assist companies in making necessary corrections before the data
is reported to the statistical agents. Residential property and farm and ranch are reported to the residential
statistical department of TICO, while commercial lines are reported to Insurance Services
Office, the designated commercial lines statistical agent of the TDI.
Statistical Coding is a valuable alternative for companies that do not wish to or do not
have the resources to develop a Texas statistical reporting program for a particular line
of insurance. TICO captures all of the needed statistical information from copies of the
policy declaration pages supplied by the company. We also assist companies by
answering their questions regarding rule and rating procedures contained in the Texas
Personal Lines Manual.
